Here at Olive + Page we believe in the importance of businesses, no matter how big or small, giving back to communities and environments in which they operate.
Every little bit helps.

That is why, right from the beginning of Olive + Page, we chose to partner with the One Percent Collective and give back 1% of our income to charity. Find out more below.
One Percent Collective
The One Percent Collective is made up of 14 different charities that give back to New Zealanders, as well as the international population. We chose to partner with the One Percent Collective because they make it easy to give to some phenomenal charities that help families and children in need – which we are hugely passionate about.
Every charity has been carefully selected by the One Percent Collective’s Board of Trustees and each of the 14 charity’s governance, financials and overall effectiveness have been scrutinised prior to being chosen. Donors can choose to give to just one or all 14 charities and their donation is split accordingly. The One Percent Collective does not take a cut. 100% of donations go directly to the chosen charities.
The idea behind the One Percent Collective was that if everyone who could; gave just 1% to those who needed it more than them, then what a huge difference that could make to the world. One percent doesn’t sound like a lot, but it can make a phenomenal difference to those who need it.
Olive + Page donates a set amount monthly, and after year-end financials are completed, we top this up to make sure we have donated 1% of our income. A glimpse into our chosen five charities and what they do is below.
Charities
SpinningTop gives balance to vulnerable children living in poverty, whose lives have been thrown off balance through war, oppression, natural disaster and other circumstances beyond their control. SpinningTop works in places where there is no social welfare net – with the majority of work being carried out in Asia and the Pacific. Aid and opportunity are delivered in four priority areas - Shelter, Nutrition, Education and Play.

Bellyful provides free meals for families with newborn babies, and families with young children who need support. Having young children is hard work, especially if you add struggling with illness, financial worries, multiple new babies, or have no support network. Bellyful helps families in a practical way by delivering ready-made meals to the door with a smile.

Garden to Table builds life skills through practical, hands on classes. Many children are disconnected from nature and their food supply. Through a comprehensive food education programme that supports primary schools throughout New Zealand, children learn how to grow and cook fresh food while developing their environmental awareness.

The UpsideDowns Education Trust helps to give children with Down syndrome a voice by funding speech language therapy. This therapy gives children the right support and tools so they can learn to talk, read, write, and ultimately, feel more empowered and integrated into their communities.

The Neonatal Trust supports the families of premature or sick full-term babies as they make their journey through neonatal intensive care, the transition home, and onwards. Help is provided through education, events, and equipment that enhances the environment in the care units.
